Please note that rooting applications are not compatible with all Android devices (depends on phone model, firmware version). Therefore you should always check the compatibility of the application with your mobile device to avoid turning it into a "brick" (mechanically faulty phone with software errors, un usable). Be sure to read the answers to the questions about root.

Frequently Asked Questions
When I downloaded Framaroot, I had 2 methods in stock and neither one helped me to root. I downloaded free root programs and none of them helped me to get root. Please help! My phone model - Micromax D303, apdroid 4.4.2.
I always recommend to read reviews left by Micromax D303 users on xda / 4pda forum. Judging by the comments, the following android applications helped to root: Kingo Root 4.1rus and Newkingroot v.4.62. In any case, use root programs from the latest versions.
Root manuals always state that a particular application requires root access to work properly. What it is, why it is dangerous and why root access is needed, read here.
What is root right (root usage rights)
Root is the jailbreak equivalent of iOS. It allows Android users to deeply dive into the phone's subsystem, working with it in the same way as with the sd card or the internal memory of the mobile device.
Android uses the same access rights as Linux. Everything you do is done in the name of your user with a limited list of permissions. Any application you run may also use these permissions with the consent of the user.
Root-user = superuser. His rights are not limited, he can access any file or folder, perform any file operations within the Android OS.
In simple words, root access is the ability to work with the root file system within the Android OS without any restriction.
What happens during rooting?
Root is the modification to the file system to grant full root access to the root directory of a smartphone/tablet. As a result, a root-user has an unlimited list of rights on the Android device. If the program is granted superuser rights, it can also do whatever it wants on the phone.
How to know if your phone has root
It is actually very easy to know if your phone has root installed. If you recently bought your phone and you are using the default Android firmware, then logically you do not have root.
If you have a second-hand phone or you do not remember if you have installed root, you can check the status with the Root Checker. The application will determine whether you have superuser/su access on your Android device.

Why to root: List the main reasons
Gaining root rights will easily bypass any restrictions set by the smartphone manufacturer by default. In particular, you will be able to
- Run more applications with a wider list of privileges, manually accept or deny permissions for a certain application installed on your Android;
- Without preventing Android to install unofficial firmware;
- Give data recovery software access to the phone memory;
- One of the most obvious motivations for rooting your Android is to avoid viruses, which you cannot remove from your smartphone without having root privileges. Of course, there are antiviruses with root access preinstalled, but these are a minority;
- Install special applications and custom flash roms;
- All in all, improve the performance of your tablet, more flexibly customize the appearance of your phone, overclock or slow down the processor of your mobile device, using root access.
Some applications using root access allow:
- Automatically back up all your applications and data to the Android memory,
- Create a secure tunnel to the Internet,
- Make the device a wireless access point (hotspot) - in other words, establish a wireless network over wifi (see "tethering" on Wikipedia), even if it has been disabled by the firmware developer by default.
What are the dangers of rooting a phone
Makers of android mobile devices are interested in preventing rooting. Improper handling of root rights leads to the failure of smartphones and tablets. Nevertheless, for an experienced user the risk to screw up the phone is minimal and the potential benefits of rooting - judging from the aforementioned list - are impressive.
There are three potential dangers of root access activation:
1. Some vendors, after detecting the activated root-access on the phone, deny the warranty.
We should, however, keep in mind that you can always cancel the root access to the file system of the mobile device. If you need to send the device for repair, just rollback to the original (backup) firmware and nobody will ever know that you got root access.
2. Phone turning into a "brick": Failure to root your device may turn it into a so-called "brick".
The smartest way to avoid having your phone ruined is to follow instructions carefully when getting root access on trusted web resources, mobile portals. Please make sure the manual is applicable for your device and that the user firmware is compatible with it.
Please pay attention to the feedback from the users with the similar device: they may have already rooted it or may have turned it "bricked" and are still in shock.
3. Increasing vulnerability. Granting root rights on Android reduces security. Services and apps with unlimited rights can create vulnerability. For a reason, Google refuses to support its services (e.g. Google Wallet) in rooted devices.
